White Chocolate Party Popcorn

White Chocolate Party Popcorn

Popcorn and wine are a match made in food pairing heaven. Now imagine that popcorn drenched in white chocolate and covered in sprinkles...sounds amazing, right? We served this at our rosé party last night, and it was a hit! Here's how we did it.

White Chocolate Party Popcorn Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 bags of popcorn
  • 1 bag of white chocolate chips
  • Rainbow sprinkles!

Preparation

  1. Pop the popcorn. Any popcorn will do, but keep it simple. Now is not the time for movie theater style butter or fancy-schmancy kettle corn. Simply salted popcorn is best. Combine all the popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl and try not to eat it all while you wait on your chocolate to melt.

  2. Melt the chocolate. Dump the bag of white chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the chocolate in 30-second increments, stirring after each round until melted.

  3. Pour the melted chocolate over the popcorn and mix to coat. This is the best part! You could probably use a spatula, but I prefer to use my hands to make sure every last piece is coated in chocolatey goodness. While your hands are still messy, spread the popcorn out on a cookie sheet.

  4. Cover in sprinkles! (Oops, this is actually the best part.) Use as many sprinkles as your heart desires.

  5. Chill and serve. The chocolate needs some time to set before serving. Either let it sit on the counter for a while, or put it in the fridge to chill for about 15 minutes. The popcorn looks darling in individual cups or makes a statement in a bowl. Either way, we promise you won’t have leftovers!

Tips

Pairs well with rosé!
Party popcorn can be made a few hours in advance but is best served fresh.

P.S. Our love of wine and popcorn pairings is well documented.
